Stephen has now worked at the forefront of the information industry for more than twenty five years. After graduating in computer science, he persued an academic career in the 1980s at Sydney University and the University of New South Wales. Stephen developed a reputation as an inspiring teacher in areas such as operating systems, networks, security, and software development. He was responsible for research projects developing new operating system designs such as the Styx component system and the Mungi 64-bit OS, as well as new hardware approaches to address space management.

Since 1994, Stephen has been involved in training and consultancy projects in the IT industry. This has involved presenting a wide range of Windows, Unix and Java systems and development courses, as well as performing performance and security reviews and course development. In recent years, Stephen has specialised in Microsoft BizTalk and .NET development courses.

Stephen’s clients have included the Australian Defence Department, Digital/Compaq, Data General, the Fijian government, Fujitsu, Intel, Vodafone, Honeywell, and Aristocrat. He has also worked for most of Australia, New Zealand and Singapore’s training centres, particularly Aspect/KAZ, Auldhouse, Dimension Data, Drake, Excom, New Horizon, Pollak Learning Alliance, and Spherion/Interim.

Stephen is a regular contributor to the MCT community via the MCT newsgroups. He has also worked as a TLG at TechEd EMEA, and was a community presenter at the 2008 MCT Summit in Sydney.
